Springtime Babies

I've been on the lookout for some gorgeous farm animals to photograph for a while now and with Spring fast approaching, I knew there would be some super cute babies on the way so I did a bit of a call out amongst my friends to see if anybody knew of any babies I could photograph. As luck would have it, my lovely friend Casi put the word out to Jody Robinson-Wildey to get in touch. She has a dream home with a fantastic array of cuties waiting to be photographed. The best part is, they're all pets! So I didn't have to come away at the end feeling sad.

At the time they were photographed the two lambs (Mint and Sage) were just a couple of weeks old and the two calves (Willow and Olive) were around 8 weeks. SO cute and friendly!

In order to photograph Mint and Sage inside in a semi studio setting (I hung some blankets up) and to avoid creating a massive mess, the two lambs wore nappies. Which is pretty much the most adorable thing that has ever happened. We also had to employ Pip the cat to come out, The lambs were quite taken with her and would only come and pose on the blankets when she was around.

As we were walking back across the field, I noticed Pip had been watching from the window so I had to get a last shot in. Looking very regal on the window sill.

I'd like to throw out a HUGE thank you to Jody for allowing me to spend the morning with her beautiful fuzzy family. Every animal has their little quirks but different species have their own general characteristics which are super fun to pick up on. Every time I do a shoot like this, I learn and grow a little bit more.
