I’ve been living with cats for the past 20 years. We recently lost our last kitty and though it was horrible and sad, I now have a cat-free garden. Which has afforded me the ability to encourage birds in! This has somewhat kickstarted an obsession with photographing the little feathered fuzzies and I’ll be honest, I am out of control. I put food out for them every morning and then sit with my cup of tea and my camera next to me, waiting for the first fellas to turn up. And they always oblige! I thought I would update with some of my favourites here. These guys were all photographed either in my garden or around the Manawatu – with the exception of the kaka (I WISH they were in my garden!) They can be found at the PÅ«kaha National Wildlife Centre and you should definitely go and visit them because they are amazing.
